Years 7 to 9 Subjects – STEM (Digital Technologies)
At Emmaus Christian College, students in STEM (Digital Technologies) learn skills in advanced technologies and how they are applied in various STEM fields. Each year includes an innovation STEM project where students apply their skills to solve current and emerging challenges outlined in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Students inquire, test, and reflect, on how various emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and their developed solutions impact societies and associated ethical considerations.
Within this subject, students will learn about:
Emerging technologies such as Machine Learning (AI)
Computational Thinking & Programming skills
5 Stages of Data Analysis (Acquiring, Processing, Modelling, Representing and Interpreting Data)
Iterative Project Development
Students learn concepts and practical skills in these key areas which can foster curiosity and capability in other subject areas such as Science, Mathematics, Design & Technologies and Humanities. In subsequent years, students’ increased capabilities allow them to further design and create authentic STEM Solutions independently and collaboratively.
