Year 12 Orientation Day

Recently, our Year 12 cohort had our Orientation Day. Starting at Gateway Baptist Church, we participated in a worship service, joined by Youth Pastor and Old Scholar, Ben Peters.

He encouraged us with a sermon and led us in prayer, making it a deeply meaningful time of ministry and growth. It was wonderful to take part in student- and teacher-led worship, growing not only as a student body, but in close connection with our teachers as well.

We also loved sharing prayer and intimacy with God with each other, in small groups, following Ben’s prompting. His encouragement to remove the “fig leaves” of our lives - the things that we hide behind (as in Genesis 3) - challenged us to let God overcome these struggles as we walk through what will be a challenging, but highly beneficial year ahead.

After this worship service, we also participated in fun activities for the rest of the day, starting with Family Feud style quiz games, before going bowling and laser tag!

We ask for your prayers as we step into this year, that we as Year 12s will do our absolute best in all areas of our lives, and that we will make a tangible, positive difference in the lives of those around us.

As Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us, there is a time for everything, so would you join us in praying that this significant season in our lives will be filled with growth, purpose, and positivity.

God bless you all.
