Years 7 to 9 Subjects – Wellbeing and Health

Wellbeing and Health is designed to support students’ personal, social, and academic growth. In line with the World Health Organisation’s (2014) definition of wellbeing and the ACARA V9 Health curriculum focus areas (Identities and change, interacting with others and making healthy and safe choices), this subject helps students build essential life skills.

Students will explore key topics including:

  • transition into High School and change,
  • developing resilience and adaptability,
  • healthy friendships,
  • understanding the qualities of respectful and supportive relationships, and
  • digital safety; learning to navigate the online world responsibly.

These units work together to empower students to thrive in all aspects of their lives.

This subject is one lesson per week over both semesters.

Year 9

Year 9 students explore the Wellbeing and Health content through the lens of the Rite Journey Program, covering topics such as transitioning into adulthood, personal responsibility, becoming a responsible digital citizen and much more.

Please refer to the Rite Journey page for more details.
