Year 12 Subjects – Veta Morphus

Level: Stage 2
Prerequisites: Nil
Assumed knowledge: Nil

Course Summary:

Stage 2 Veta Morphus will be undertaken as a 70-credit subject.

Veta Morphus is a Christian discipleship course that is offered to senior students completing their SACE; a one-year experience of growth and transformation in the Christian life. Students are challenged to grow in their understanding of Biblical literacy, cultural awareness, and Biblical worldview while growing in their faith formation through acts of service and leadership opportunities.

Students participate in a weekly time of worship, Bible reading, prayer, contemplative exercises, or a combination of the aforementioned, before engaging in group discussion led by the Veta Morphus Peer Group Supervisor, Mr Wood. A wide range of topics is covered that challenge and inform, develop Spiritual disciplines, and encourage self-reflection. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a nationally accredited qualification - Cert III in Christian Ministry and Theology (11236 NAT).

"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" - Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

As this is a VET Certificate III course, there are additional fees to be paid. The full course cost in 2025 was near $2,400, but Emmaus subsidises this by 70%, meaning approximately $720 is payable.

The topics for Stage 2 Veta Morphus are a combination of in-class learning and assignment submission, ministry placements within a church community, mentoring, topical research and presentation of findings, three weekend retreats at dates set by Veta Morphus throughout the school year, Bible reading plan and journaling. Some of the topics covered are listed below:

  • Topic 1: Biblical Exegesis
  • Topic 2: Exploring the Old Testament
  • Topic 3: Discovering the Gospels
  • Topic 4: Communication Skills
  • Topic 5: Jesus and Culture

Assessments:

All assessment tasks must be completed for successful attainment of the Cert III in Christian Ministry and Theology (11236 NAT), as issued by Evolation Learning Pty Ltd – RTO 45219. It is not a graded subject in the vein of a sliding scale such as A, B, C, D etc, but rather a pass/fail.
