Stage 1 Music Experience is a one semester 10 credit SACE program that provides pathways to Stage 2 Music Production, Music Performance - Solo, and Music Performance - Ensemble.
Assessment:
Creative Works (60%)
- Two performances (solo, ensemble, or accompanist) of 2–5 minutes each
- One lead sheet composition featuring an original melody or song with lyrics (1–3 minutes)
- One original composition or arrangement presented as an audio recording (1–3 minutes)
Musical Literacy (40%)
- One analysis and discussion of style and use of musical elements
- One reflection on the development and refinement of performance repertoire
- One composer's statement explaining creative intentions, skills, and techniques used in the lead sheet composition
