Course Summary
This subject aims to develop students’ practical skills in producing standardised joinery systems and increasingly complex machine-based processes to safely produce a small table based on their CAD design.
Students who have completed the course could continue undertaking the following pathways within the SACE framework at Emmaus:
- 11 Materials [Stage 1 Material Solutions 1MRS10]
- 11 CAD (Computer Aided Design) [Stage 1 Digital Communication Solutions 1DCS10]

- Skills task (CAD and physical production of a table corner joint)
- Investigation – establishment of a design brief, exploration of other existing products
- Planning – sketches (possible designs, chosen design), CAD (renders & engineering drawing, costing)
