Emmaus Christian College's Vocational Education Training (VET) Program offers senior students the opportunity to enhance their future career options by studying a nationally recognised qualification whilst completing their South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE).

A VET pathway is designed to accommodate students who have a vocational focus, it is particularly suited to students who enjoy a hands-on approach to their learning, and is a valuable choice for students interested in apprenticeship or traineeship opportunities.

A VET course is a nationally accredited certification that equips students with employability skills, industry recognised training and qualifications to begin their career, setting them up to apply for entry-level positions in their chosen career field. For example, a student looking to be an Electrician could study a Certificate II Electrotechnology and on completion, be apprenticeship-ready.

There are many VET courses available and include industries such as:

  • Agriculture and Horticulture

  • Allied Health - Child Care, Aged Care and Disability Care

  • Animal Studies

  • Automotive

  • Christian Ministry (Veta Morphus)

  • Conservation and Land Management

  • Construction

  • Electrical/Engineering Fabrication

  • Fashion and Design

  • Hairdressing and Beauty

  • Hospitality

  • Information Technology and Digital Media

  • Music

  • Sport, Fitness and Recreation

“Maddie said, "My experience with VET was very successful as I have been employed as an Assistant Educator at a childcare through the completion of my Certificate III VET course. The course itself required a lot of hard work and commitment, especially with COVID restrictions in place throughout the year."”
