Stronger Together

  • From the Head of Middle School

Isn’t it incredible that the invisible air we breathe also has the strength to cause such damage? The recent strong winds in and around our state left a series of uprooted trees, damaging properties and causing power outages for many.

Trees, when planted alone, take on the full force of the storm. Despite having strong roots, a healthy trunk and foliage, even a well established tree can end up like the one shown here. Interestingly the trees in the background planted together have withstood the storm.

In Genesis 2:18, God lets us know, "it is not good for the man to be alone." (NIV)

In Ecclesiastes 4:12 we read, "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." (NIV)

Just like trees planted together, can withstand the storm; roots interlocked; foliage bent but not broken, we too can stand through the storms of life, when we are together.

Who can you encourage and strengthen this week to build up the body of Christ?

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds." Hebrews 10:24
