God's Amazing Provision

  • From the Head of Junior School South Plympton

Exactly 12 months ago I was excited to share with you the inspiration provided by our children for developing the criteria for F-6 Nature Playground at Brooklyn Park (a sample of the drawings below). The Architect took this criteria, turned it into plans, submitted it out for tender, and in the last month, it has become reality! Very exciting!

We have appointed our first three staff across ELC and Junior Primary – an ELC Director, a Junior Primary Coordinator/Year 1/2 Teacher, and a Foundation Teacher.

Our inaugural students have received their invitations to the very first Orientation Days in November.

During the school holidays I was on site with Gillie Giles our inaugural Brooklyn Park Foundation Teacher. Mrs Giles was setting up chairs and tables in the two Junior Primary classrooms. She felt like it was Christmas unpacking all the brand new resources for teaching Maths, Reading, Play Based Learning and more!

On the other side of the school, Pip Cooper was having a ball in the ELC setting up all the furniture ready for our new ELC Director who will be starting Monday Week 2, Term 4.

Upstairs Alicia Buxton was on site setting up the new library book shelves and furniture.

Moving in and out of classrooms and offices were Matt Starczak and Wayne Kolster installing wifi and computers. Dave Argent and Paul Trezona were unpacking and installing all the electrical white goods. Ben Raw was overseeing final communication with the building team – and yes, we have the keys and everything is now locked up.

Barb Greenslade has been booking interviews for our new families, some of whom will have their very first day at ELC day on Monday 13 January!

Andrew Linke has been meeting and building relationships with our new neighbourhood Schools and Churches and yesterday after school, all F-12 staff visited the new campus.

Emmaus Christian College Brooklyn Park is part of our school, part of our family, a second campus, our expanding community, and part of the body of Christ. We wait in anticipation to see what God does next!

When God has a plan, he paves the way… He brings people together of varying skill sets to work together for His glory.

“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ… God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be?... Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Cor 12:12, 18-20, 27
