23 March - Music Tuition now online

Dear Parents of Instrumental students,

In relation to the Covid-19 pandemic, as of tomorrow, Tuesday 24 March Emmaus will be moving our Instrumental Music Lessons online. What this will look like for you:

  • Students will continue to receive lessons onsite. Their lesson times remain scheduled in Google Calendar and they will continue to go to their assigned tutor room in the music suite
  • Students in Years 3-12 will need to bring their Chromebook/Laptop to their prac room, they will receive a link via their school email which they will click 'Join Now' to start a Google Meet with their tutor
  • Students in Foundation-Year 2 will come to their prac room at their scheduled time, they will receive assistance by music staff to login to their lesson
  • Tutors will conduct one-on-one lessons remotely from home using Google Meet. Tutors have been instructed to record these meetings to give accountability which aids in the safety of your child and the tutor.
  • This will be in effect from tomorrow (Tuesday 24th March)

This is a difficult and challenging time that we are living through, many of us haven't experienced something like this in our lifetime. The music staff are keen for students to continue engaging in music-making activities as this will greatly benefit their mental health and wellbeing, giving them purpose throughout the extra hours at home that might soon come their way. If South Australian schools close in the near future, your child will be ahead of the game as they would have become familiar with remote learning.
If you have any queries with this please contact myself or Tracey Medhurst, Performing Arts Assistant (tmedhurst@emmauscc.sa.edu.au)

God bless,
